No Gym, No Problem: Unraveling the NordicTrack 6.5S Experience
A reliable treadmill ideal for moderate usage, especially handy for tackling harsh weather conditions. It’s best suited for speeds up to 6 minutes per mile (10 MPH). Impressively consistent performance, minimal noise, seamless incline adjustments, and straightforward manual operation make it a solid choice. Notably, you can skip the iFIT app/software hassle by simply pressing and holding the iFIT button during startup to access the home screen.
Delivery Experience:
Opted for the room of choice delivery, highly recommended if you lack assistance. The delivery team conducted themselves professionally and with great care.
Assembly Process:
Managed to unpack and assemble it solo in just over an hour, thanks to the provided manual and a helpful YouTube video (Walt’s Reviews “How to assemble NordicTrack T 6.5 S”). Being petite at 5’2″ and not heavily into weightlifting, the assembly process was manageable, albeit a bit tricky due to the manual’s unclear diagrams. Had to rotate the base 180 degrees post-unpacking.
Performance Insights:
Tested the treadmill with a trial run and brisk walk, with further updates pending. Initial impressions are positive, although the pulse meter appears erratic, often displaying wildly fluctuating readings (e.g., < 50 bpm, then 116, 170, back to < 50 or 60). I primarily utilize manual settings, adjusting pace and incline to my preference. Setting these parameters is intuitive, either through numbered buttons or the +/- buttons. For fractional adjustments like 7.5 MPH or 3.5% incline, a quick succession of the appropriate buttons suffices. Changes in pace and incline are swift and smooth. The belt length accommodates both running and walking comfortably.
